Crabby took off his shiny shell after I posted last night and put the happy face back on. By this morning, though, he was back in the shiny shell. I think the Siamese-sunglasses shell (the pink thing in the front) is sized between the shiny shell and the happy face, so there should be plenty of shell-size-choice for Crabby.
We're pretty surprised by all this activity because Crabby has lived here for two years and this is the first time he's changed shells.
Today was crabitat cleaning day and when I picked up Crabby's coconut hut I was surprised to see him in a new outfit. He was wearing the happy face. This was a surprise because he's been wearing 'the shiny shell' for a very long time. I assumed he'd finally outgrown the shiny shell. I cleaned out his crabitat, put in all new sand and replaced the coconut hut, the tunnel, the bark-thingy for climbing, the shells, his marbles (wouldn't want Crabby to lose all his marbles), his feeding-shells, his sponge, and his water-pillow (Crabby is provided-for, not spoiled).
As luck would have it, though, either the cleaning upset him or the new shell didn't corner well in the trial run, because he's now back in his shiny shell. When last seen he was adjusting the fit.
